Sched for end Sept for lipo/bbl. Can move up soonwr to end May. I would love to just get over with as Im 44yr. However, need advice regarding reccovery during the two diff seasons. Considering swelling, faja 24/7, itchy durinf the hottest time of the yr?
Answer: BBL in May vs Sept 2024 Dear kkkk40, there should be difference in final results of your surgery. I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. Answer: Things to be concerned about before the BBL Things to be concerned about before having a BBL are the following. First is understanding your candidacy for the procedure. Wanting to have a great shape, body does not mean that you have the potential for being a good candidate or you might be an excellent candidate. There are a number of valuables that are going to Influence the potential for each person when it comes to getting results. Recognize that a BBL is two procedures done at the same time. The first is Liposuction and the second is fat to transfer. Patients need to be assessed in regards to candidacy for both liposuction and fat transfer. The second is finding the right plastic surgeon. Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who mastered this procedure is quite small. This procedure should be viewed as permanent and irreversible. I generally recommend patients not select a provider until they’ve had multiple in person consultationsand plenty of time to vet each provider. The biggest mistake. Patient make is having only one consultation and then scheduling surgery. The second biggest mistake patients make is assuming that a plastic surgeon with board certification who has years of experience, and a substantial number of positive reviews has mastered most plastic surgical procedures. This is simply not true. Some plastic surgeons never become great and some run circles around everybody else in regards to skill and experience. Finding the right provider in my opinion, cannot be done using computers. Finding the right plastic surgeon is a time-consuming process that requires having a lot of in person consultations. When patient sometime on their hands, they should be having a lot of consultations before selecting a provider. Perhaps you’ve already done that. I don’t think it really matters though some people find compression garments a bit warm if they don’t have access to air-conditioning. Some people like wearing compression garments and some people can’t stand them. It depends. Best, Mats Hagström MD
