How to remove oil from hair after anesthesia?

I had rhinoplasty 8 days ago and I can't seem to wash the oils out of my hair. My skin is oily too but my hair is more of a concern - I'm using clarifying shampoos and it's still greasy even by the time I blow dry. I know this is due to anti-nausea drugs in anesthesia but can anyone suggest a way to lessen the oil? Is there a shampoo that can help? I know there are recommendations for oxy-wash for skin, but what about hair?

Thank you for your question. When patients have laser resurfacing and use vaseline on their faces for 1 week, they have a similar problem with their hair.I have them use a combination of white vinegar/water, 50/5.It seems to work well.Best wishes.

While I am not familiar with your particular condition (hair being too oily after anesthesia), I routinely ask my patients to apply Vaseline to incisions in and around their hairline, which eventually costs their hair, too. They find it difficult to remove with regular shampoo. In that circumstance, we recommend one shower using Dawn in the greasy areas only- works very well.
