I am young. A few months ago i broke my nose (though i never went to a doctor I know it was broken) and now it is one-side deformed. I usually touch it, and when i press it really "goes down" and looks like a normal nose( but it doesnt last for long, the next morning it looks deformed again). Should I press it? What can i do?
Answer: Rhinoplasty for broken nose and dorsal hump deformity Trauma to the nose can cause a displaced nasal fracture, a non--displaced nasal fracture, and it can dislocate upper lateral cartilages off of the nasal bones. Trauma to the nose can also cause a deviated septum which creates airway obstruction in the back of the nose. A septoplasty is performed for medical necessity to straighten the septum and improve breathing. A rhinoplasty is performed to shave down the dorsal hump as a result of the trauma and osteotomies are performed and straighten and narrow the bridge line. Answer: Nasal fracture It sounds like you may have broken your nose and the area may be forming a scar tissue. Depending on how different it looks compared to before and whether it is giving you issues with breathing, you may need surgery. I recommend that you seek a facial plastic or plastic surgeon who can exam you thoroughly and treat you accordingly.

Answer: Broken Nose Deformity/ Swelling Your nose was broken a few months ago and now you are experiencing an asymmetrical nasal dorsal deformity, which seems soft and compressible. This is typical of nasal bone fractures and likely represents nasal bone remodeling, repair and callous formation of your bones. Sometimes taking prescription steroids orally may help. If your deformity persists greater than 6 months from injury, you may need to consider rasping of the nasal bones, along with an open reduction of your nasal bone fracture with external stabilization under general anesthesia. Please see a Facial Plastic or Plastic Surgeon with special interest in nasal fractures for an complete evaluation, exam and recommendations. Best of luck.

Answer: A few months ago I broke my nose and now it is deformed, what to do? Hi, I have performed and taught Rhinoplasty for over 30 years. From the history and photos, it appears that you sustained a nasal fracture. Your nose is healed after several months and a Rhinoplasty would be required at this point to reduce the nasal fracture of the bones and or cartilage.Hope this helps.
