You should expect to be well taken care of by residents in a plastic surgery training program such as Emory University. Keep in mind, however, that residents have very little experience at this stage of their career. Make certain you understand the pros and cons of making this decision before proceeding.
Far more important than deciding which TT is for you, is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let him explain why one technique may be better than another and if you need a tummy tuck. Many board certified plastic surgeons provide a free first time consult and you should take advantage of that!WHO IS A CANDIDATE?Patients who are healthy but have excess skin or fat that does not respond to diet and exercise.Patients who have undergone significant weight loss and have hanging skin.Women with loose skin and stretch marks following pregnancy.Anyone with loss of skin elasticity.Patients who are unable to tighten the abdominal wall with exercise. If you have loose or sagging abdominal wall skin; often associated with relaxation of the anterior abdominal wall muscles (frequently secondary to multiple pregnancies).#drright #tummytuck #TT
I trained at Emory in Atlanta, so I imagine you are talking about their resident's clinic at Grady. The surgeons that I trained with were all fantastically trained and there is always an upper level resident there that has years and years of training and learning from some of the best plastic surgeons in the country. I would recommend the clinic at Grady without reservation. Hope this helps.-JGH
Although I cannot comment on the specific school, assuming you are having your procedure performed in a reputable plastic surgery training program, it is most likely that you will be "safe". Personally, what I would be concerned about is the quality of the outcome of the procedure performed. There is no doubt that a board-certified plastic surgeon (who can demonstrate lots of experience achieving the types of outcomes you would be pleased with) will have a greater experience level than the plastic surgeon in training. If you choose to proceed with a training program, you will want to make sure that the supervising (board-certified) plastic surgeon is scrubbed in with the plastic surgery resident during the procedure. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question.Choose a board certified plastic surgeon who has done a ton of tummy tuck and has privileges to do this surgery at a local university hospital. This says his credentials have been checked out by fellow Drs. All surgeries carry risk, talk to your plastic surgeon and choose one wisely. Many surgeons, including myself, offer online virtual consultations where you send us your photos and we can estimate the cost. I, like many surgeons, also offer free consultations so that you can be examined and given the most accurate quote possible. Please be mindful that the in person physical exam is the most important and could potentially alter your treatment plan.
Thanks for your inquiry and an excellent question. You can be anemic after surgery because of major blood loss in surgery-which is unusual after the surgeries you had or if started anemic in the first place before surgery. If you have blood work from before surgery that would be helpful in k...
Hello and thank you for your question. I agree with my colleagues below. I think you should try and see your surgeon earlier rather than later. If you vomited and then noted a change in the color you could put tension on your muscle repair and caused something to bleed. The color change from red...
I appreciate your question. For health and safety reasons, best to be at a BMI less than 30 or within 10 pounds of your goal weight and stable at that weight for 6 months prior to surgery for optimal results. Once you have reached a healthy weight, from your photos you appear to be a good...
