You need to find someone that has experience in treating skin type 5.
Combination treatment may be possible.
Filler will not help.
Peels are a possibility.
Remember that there is a risk of the pigmentation getting worse.

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Melasma needs a combination approach to get the best improvement and will need a series of treatments. In our practice, we combine Clear + brilliant, peels, microneedling/PRP, aerolase, Cosmelan, and sometimes erbium laser (coollaser) to get the best results. Hi and thanks for the question.  Melasma can be managed and definitely helped with the right treatment plan.  Usually there are several different things that we do to help patients with melasma and not one by itself generally gives you the result that you're looking for.  For best results I recommend seeing a qualified provider that has experience in this area. 

Melasma generally requires a combination approach to address. To understand your options, consult in person with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist.

The latest laser for pigmentation Picosecond or picosure laser which causes to desimate the pigmenation so our body can absorbe it without the thermal damage. Or fractionated laser and combination creams.
