Is my wife a good candidate for BBL? What needs to be done to make her a candidate? I am doing preleminary research now to find the best route to go. I want a sexy butt that makes me want to touch it 24 hours a day. I hope Dr Jimmerson chooses to respond to this because I like his work the best. Please help.

The answer is yes she is a good
candidate for a BBL, she has plenty of donor fat to harvest and best to make
sure her BMI is under 30 prior to proceeding. Speaking on a more global
cosmetic point of view, she will do well with a tummy tuck to complete the
rejuvenation of her body. She would see a dramatic difference from these
procedures.

Thanks for your question. Best results are obtained when the patients are at or near their ideal weight. However, I also realize that it's sometimes very difficult and frustrating for patients. Your wife could benefit from a BBL and slimming down of her waist. She will eventually need a tummy tuck and breast procedure to complete the makeover. I would caution you against having both procedures done at the same time for fear of affecting fat survival and eventual results.  I am not in the camp that advocate doing both (tummy tuck and BBL) at the same time. Think about it, When fat is transferred to the buttocks, the fat cells need all of the oxygen possible in order to survive. Fat transfers (BBL) require a rich oxygen environment in order to attempt the highest rate of survival of the fat cells. Fat is not just transferred to the buttock region. In order to obtain that shapely pear shape behind you must transfer fat to the area of the hip laterally to make for more attractive curves. If you lie on your side it will place undue pressure on the transferred fat cells and perhaps flatten out the area.  We recommend that our patients do not place any significant pressure on their butts for 4-6 weeks following the BBL. Research research, then research some more. Always seek out the opinion of a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with years of experience in liposuction and fat transfers. Furthermore request to see before and after photos of previous patients by that doctor....not a clinic or surgery center. Do your homework......research and verify the doctor's credentials. Have they had problems with the Board of Medicine, disciplinary or otherwise. Any law suits? If you have a Tummy tuck and BBL done at the same time, how are you going to avoid lying on your back, face up when the tummy tuck prevents you from lying face down? I recommend that the BBL be done first to utilize the abdominal fat which would otherwise be discarded with the tummy tuck. After a minimum of three months , the patient is brought back and the TT is performed. Good luck, Dr. PG

Based on the photos, your wife is a candidate for BBL, but she will also need a tummy tuck to remove all the excess skin on her tummy. She will probably need more than one procedure. Weight loss prior to surgery would probably allow for a better result.  I would search for the surgeon who you feel is most likely to give you

Based on these photos, I would recommend losing some weight prior to surgery in order to have the best outcome from a BBL. The loose skin and stretch marks in the lower abdominal area suggest she may benefit from a tummy tuck as well. The square shape of the buttock can certainly be improved with a fat transfer procedure. At a lower weight, your wife will have a better cosmetic result and there will be a lower risk of complications during and after the surgery. I would say that she is an excellent candidate for BBL with great donor areas, but she would need to consider an extended tummy tuck so she would have the best outcome from the procedures. Getting close to her ideal weight would be the best option too. That way more extra skin would be resected in the abdominoplasty while the abdominal wall will be also repaired. This is a reasonable question. Clearly, in order to make a solid, safe decision, your wife should meet and talk with a board certified plastic surgeon who regularly performs the Brazilian Butt Lift AND body contouring in general.There are three main ways your wife might go about achieving fuller, rounder buttocks. All of them will likely involve a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) in addition.Attempt to lose more weight to get her BMI lower, then proceed with numbers 2 or 3 below. Not sure if she has already lost weight, or still needs to. A consultation would clarify that. Undergo liposuction for fat harvesting, the Brazilian Butt Lift and a tummy tuck, all in one surgery. This is A LOT of surgery at one time, and not my first choice for the outcome or your wife's safety.Undergo liposuction of the abdomen and the back to deflate the abdomen and for fat harvesting, and the Brazilian Butt Lift in one surgery. Then come back 3-6 months later for the tummy tuck. This is maybe the best option, and one that I offer patients of mine who have similar needs as your wife. This way, she'll get plenty of fat for grafting to her buttocks, AND she'll get an incredible result from the tummy tuck after the liposuction that was performed first.Good luck!

I think that she needs to lose weight to get to a lower BMI before undergoing surgery.. The BBL can then be performed at that time and perhaps other procedures might improve her overall appearance.

Your wife appears to have lots of skin rolls and overweight. It appears that she may have already lost weight. She can benefit from a Tummy tuck as well.
