I'm two weeks post op and the numbness in my thighs is subsiding, but an itching sensation has risen in its place, and it really bothers me. Is this normal, and if so, how can I help relieve it?
Answer: Itching after Liposuction Itching following liposuction is completely normal. The nerve endings have been slightly traumatized and the itching is actually a sign of healing. This sensation is normal and common and should dissipate in the coming days to weeks. Benadryl tablets may be able to give you some relief.

Answer: Itching After Liposuction There is a large discussion on my post operative instructions to my patients about itching and how this is a reflection of healing. If you are concerned please speak to your physician, start lymphatic massages, and/or venus legacy treatments to this area. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Itching after liposuction Itching is a very common and normal part of recovery after liposuction. Your sensory nerves, which are traumatized during the procedure (hence the numbness) are healing, which is causing the itching, along with occasional pin-prick sensations you may be experiencing. I always advise my patients massage itchy areas throughout the day. Sometimes antihistamines and topical creams can also be helpful. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Itching is a common accompaniment during the healing of liposuction. As nerves returned to function itching can be a annoying side effect. Applying I circle compresses over the area is best for immediate treatment. Antihistamines may give some relief.
