I'm on day 2 post op from an FUE hair transplant surgery. I've lost a couple of grafts and it appears that some of the grafts may be halfway out. They are scabed over so I've just left them alone. Will they survive and is that normal?
Answer: Grafts appear to look halfway out It looks normal. Don’t worry. The hair that are transplanted usually go into a telogen phase and they all fall by 3 weeks but the roots remain and they start growing after 3-4 months. Just apply some fluid over the scalp so the scars don’t form. All the best for your recovery.

Answer: Halfway out Thanks for the photos, gman, and congratulations on having the procedure. As my colleague suggested, the appearance of your scalp is normal for two days after placement of the grafts. Please be meticulous with your post op care and follow your surgeon's instructions. The crusting and scabbing will resolve over time. Best of luck!

Answer: Grafts appear to look halfway out two days post op. The photos of your scalp appear to be normal for your history of FUE procedure and post op day 2. Be gentle with the grafts for the next 4 more days and they should be locked in by then. In the next week, try to gently massage the scabs off during washing for the next 7 days. After two week, all of the scabs should be gone. Below is a link to our FUE post op. It follows the general rules of most experienced clinics.
