I received a 2500 FUE hair transplant procedure just under 3 months ago on February 1st, 2017. Last night, I accidentally bumped my head rather hard on the recipient area and it ended up leaving a bump and it's still a bit red, and a bit sore to the touch. I'm just worried that I did some damage to the grafts. Ple help me and any answer is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer: Bumped hair after HTS. Believe it or not, it is a not rare issue that the patients bump their heads after HTS as ai just mentioned at our 21st Orlando Hair Transplant Live surgery workshop. Also it happened 1-2 times after my HT surgeries. In your case, I don't see any impact in your results, just let the redness and swollen go away to continue the wound healing process of the scalp.

Answer: Bumped head after transplant surgery I would not worry at this point if you bump your head. It's during that first week (particularly in the first 5 days) that the grafts are very vulnerable to getting dislodged. After about 2 weeks following surgery, the grafts are fully in place even if you bump your head. The shaft of the grafts do shed around this time and the follicle goes into a resting/dormancy phase but begins to grow starting at around 4-6 months.
