Hello,Thank you for your question. Though it is unusual, if a seroma/fluid pocket, persists long enough it may form a capsule around it and require removal. More often, drainage and consistent compression enable a seroma to resolve shortly after developing. All the best
The normal is NOT to develop seroma, so there is not such thing of developing a capsule after a Tummy Tuck, because the entire skin flap gets re-attached to the abdominal wall with fibrosis, no capsule.Be encouraged.Dr. Cardenas
Thank you for sharing your question. If a seroma persists for a long enough period of time, it can form a surrounding capsule of scar tissue that requires a revision surgery to remove. I would speak with your surgeon to get the best advice for your specific situation.
Hello Zee98.Thank you for your question. It's not common, but a seroma after tummy tuck surgery can form a capsule of scar tissue. Once the capsule forms, it typically requires surgery to completely eradicate. You didn't give very much information, so I suppose this is the answer to your question.Sometimes a capsule around a seroma is also called a pseudobursa. Seromas are risks of body contouring surgery and the best way to reduce these from becoming a problem is to use a drain during surgery. Best wishes. Dr. ALDO
A capsule might develop if you have a chronic seroma under neath the skin flap. If this occurs, then the capsule has to be removed so the abdomen can be flat.
Thank you for your questions. Just having AS should not exclude you from having a tummy tuck as long as you are healthy otherwise. You should get a full medical clearance from your AS specialist or your general doctor prior to surgery and you should discuss any medications you take for AS with ...
Unless you have family and can stay several weeks, I would not recommend surgery abroad. Tummy tuck with BBL combined with flying right after is extremely at risk for dvt blood clots, embolism, etc.Tummy tuck is a big surgery and you are best served by close follow up with your local surgeon ...
I agree with the other physicians that have already answered this question. The chances are extremely low unless it was nicked or cut or a suture wrapped around (or through) it. This would typically require much more than the standard force to remove it which then should increase the c...
Dear Jenisadress, I'm sure there will be a general consensus/opinion here is the best thing to do is schedule a follow up visit with your PS for evaluation. You will need appropriate wound care for this issue. Good luck and hope this helps!
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately with your photos alone it is impossible to determine what might be going on. Please see your surgeon for an examination and to discuss your concerns. Best of luck!Sincerely,Dr. Michelle Spring
For aesthetic improvement, I would recommend a full tummy tuck to address your abdominal wall laxity as well as contour your flanks, and upper abdomen. Losing the 20 pounds and exercising prior to the tummy tuck would be prudent to achieve the best results possible. After healing, you could...
