I'm assuming from past experience that you cannot wear dentures under anesthesia, how will this affect the surgeons ability to make judgements on incisions and stitches, since not wearing them changes the appearance of your face
Answer: Does having dentures make it more difficult to predict the outcome of a facelift? Removable dentures will be removed during anesthesia---- you are correct. The surgical incisions--- the muscles tightening and most all of the facelift procedure occurs outside of the denture affecting area. So, the short answer is the dentures will not affect the final result of the cheeks and neck.

Answer: Dentures affect the planning but not the results of the facelift. Long-term use of dentures leads to resorbed shown of alveolar bone that can magnify some of the features of aging. Surgical planning is done with this in mind. However, the operation will effectively be executed the same as with an individual without dentures.

Answer: Does having dentures make it more difficult to predict the outcome of a facelift? No, having dentures does not make predicting the outcome of a facelift more difficult. The dentures may be be removed, if the case is under general anesthesia, and usually are if the case is performed under twilight anesthesia. The analysis of the face and the surgical plan is determined before the surgery is performed, typically during the consultation(s) and further refined or reinforced during the pre-operation visit just before the surgery. I hope this helps.

Answer: Does having dentures make it more difficult to predict the outcome of a facelift? Wearing dentures will not significantly impact your surgeons ability to perform a facelift. Any influence they have on the appearance of the face is minimal. Your surgeon will tailor the facelift to the following:1) Overall facial structure 2) Facial proportionsI hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: Denture removal for surgery Patients who wear dentures tend to have soft tissue loss around the mouth. Due to this loss, it often times decreases the chance of a patient being a viable candidate for surgery. However, if the doctor approves moving forward with surgery, the patient will remove the dentures while being put under anesthesia. Then once the patient is completely under and stable, the dentures will be place back in the mouth to achieve the best results for the patient.
