Can I still continue drinking my coffee right up to the night before surgery?

For our patients, as long as all pre-op lab exams and the pre-op cardio evaluation is fine, we would have no restrictions regarding drinking coffee up until the day before surgery.  Drinks that would be of concern are energy drinks such as Monster, Red Bull, etc.  These have too much risk of raising blood pressure.  

Drinking coffee should not cause problems during or after cosmetic surgery. However your surgeon may have certain preferences and his own reasons not to drink coffee so ask the surgeon who is operating on you.
Smoking, blood thinners and herbal supplements  are the big 3 to avoid preoperatively.

Every doctor has their own preference, so I would follow your facelift doctor's recommendations for the appropriate actions prior to your facelift surgery.

Every facelift surgeon will have his particular recommendations to ensure best outcomes and safest recovery. Coffee does play a role as it elevates the blood pressure and can agitate the patient. If you decide not to follow your doctor's guidelines, I would recommend to let him know.

I personally would have no problem with the patient of mine drinking coffee until the day of the operation. Nevertheless, this is a question should be posed to your own surgeon.

I generally have patients stop all supplements for two weeks before surgery.  However, coffee is one of those things few people cannot live without.  If you have any type of hypertension, you should do well to avoid coffee in the immediate pre op period.  In general caffeine is quickly metabolized.  The time it takes to get rid of half of the caffeine in your system is approximately 5 hours.  So stopping 24 hours before should eliminate any the side effects before surgery.  Tuff it out the day before.  Your face is worth it.  

The reasoning behind stopping your coffee is to make sure your blood pressure is as close to normal as possible at the time of your surgery.  While you will find many different recommendations regarding this, your best plan is to follow the interactions of the surgeon that you have chosen.

 In our practice it is certainly acceptable to drink coffee up until the night before the surgery , and it  is also acceptable to have a cup of black coffee( no milk or creamer) 6 hours before the surgery.

Since you are entrusting your surgeon to your chosen surgeon, your surgeon's rules and advice matter the most.  But I'm with the majority in that coffee is never a contraindication to elective surgery in my practice.  And if no creamer, my patients can have it up to 4 hours prior to arriving for their procedure.

Every surgeon has different prep instructions.  I personally allow my patients to have coffee up until the night before surgery.
