Asian rhinoplasty - is a bridge augmentation needed? (photos)

Question

I have consulted with a few doctors and have gotten mixed opinions on whether I need bridge augmentation or only tip refinement. I want a definite frontal change, I dislike the width of my nose and how my tip widens when I smile. I am looking for a natural feminine result that looks harmonious with the rest of my features but I'm unsure which route would be best. I'm hoping I can get additional professional opinions on this!

Narrowing the nose, tip and nasal base should be the goal of your rhinoplasty. Significant tip supprot with cartilage grafts would be needed to achieve desired, long lasting shape and tip projection. This should be done by means of structural septorhinoplasty. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thank you for your question.I have evaluated your case and from the photos I can say that a bridge augmentation would be adapted for you because your chin is really advanced compared to your frontal part. You also need a tip redefinition. You would most probably need also cartilage reconstruction but without face-to-face consultation we cannot say anything for sure. Best regards!

From the photos, your nasal bridge seems wide, but not very flat. Rhinoplasty can make the bridge appear more narrow which should look good. The key is to find a rhinoplasty surgeon or surgeons to consult with that can do computer imaging at the same time. That way you can see how it would look if your bridge was augmented versus just made thinner.

Hello,Your lower jaw is more forward compared to the rest of your face so my recommendation would be minimum bridge augmentation and putting more emphasis on tip refinement. I would also like to use a cartilage graft to increase the projection of your nose, for this I will take a look at your septum and if the septum is not strong enough I may have to prefer to use rib cartilage.Best Regards

I would recommend more tip projection with cartilage than bridge projection. Also, narrowing the bridge with osteotomy‘s will give the appearance of a more projecting bridge.

You appear to have an attractive and feminine nasal profile appearance that does not require augmentation. Depending upon your condition, rhinoplasty without implant may be considered for achieving a narrower nasal appearance. A carved dorsal implant may lead to a narrower bridge appearance than without, but it’s not mandatory, in my opinion. Thanks! Dr Joseph

In your side profile there is excellent bridge. From frontal view you need the nasal bones pushed together with lateral osteotomies. That will help the upper half of the nose. For narrowing the lower half you need alarplasty and tip-plasty.

I’m not a fan if bridge augmentation for Asians as they can look weird. In your case it will make your nasal tip stick up higher and would not be a good look

You have an ethnic nose. Rotated and weak tip , lowered dorsum . For the natural view your dorsum have to be augmented with a rib cartilage also with the tip cartilages

I would recommend open rhinoplasty with tip projection and bridge augmentation strong cartilage such as your own rib cartilage or donor cartilage. Also, osteotomy + hump rasping will give the slimmer nose. I recommend the bulbous nose correction with tip rearrangement and fat removal on your tip to make your nose narrower.
