I have pain and sensitivity in suture line and above during sleeping position, is this normal?

Little over two weeks ago, I have FUE hair transplant and the suture has been removed already. Normally, I do not feel any problem in suture line, like when I move my neck. However, I have a problem during sleep, I cannot keep my support my head on pillow on back because of pain/sensitivity in suture line as well as the area on top of it. I have to sleep sidewise and it disturbs my regular sleep. I was wondering if it is normal or how long it takes to be normal. Thank you.

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.  Only your doctor knows what was done during surgery so if there is abnormal pain your doctor can best address your situation.

I'm assuming you had an FUT (strip) procedure.  Usually by two weeks the sutures are out and there is minimal if any discomfort at the suture line though for some people it takes longer.  Things always hurt more at night when there is nothing to distract your brain from focusing on them.  The pain should continue to improve. It would not be  bad idea to give your surgeon a call, though, and be evaluated to assure nothing abnormal is going on.

I'm a bit confused?? Usually when we do FUE we do not use sutures. The whole idea of FUE is no sutures and no linear scar. If you had a strip surgery or FUT, then the discomfort that you are experiencing sounds normal. I would suggest you book a follow up with your doctor and have him look at the suture line to make sure it looks ok,Dr. Robert Jones

Sutures are not used for FUE but assuming you meant a strip surgery, some people have pain associated with the scar which usually goes away after the sutures are removed
