It depends in part on the procedures, but I typically tell patients they can return to work with some makeup in one to two weeks. Exercise is restricted for at least two weeks. Obviously healing continues, and you really start to look your best after 4-6 weeks have passed. Many facelift patients are ready to return to work after two weeks, if there is any residual brusing it can be covered up with makeup. Get clearance from your surgeon who knows you best. Good luck.

If you had a strictly office job, you might be able to return to work after about two weeks. However, I do not recommend heavy lifting or even being on your feet for a full shift at that time. Maybe work part-time during the third week, take frequent breaks, and delegate lifting to a co-worker. To be safe, I’d recommend holding off on lifting until a month after surgery. Also, if you work retail, you might want to wait more than two weeks before you return to work. You’ll still have significant swelling and maybe some bruising and discoloration at that point. Thank you for your question. Please follow the protocol of your surgeon as every facelift is different. I perform a facelift under a local anaesthetic meaning limited bruising. This means my patients typically return to work after 7-14 days. If they have a manual job I would suggest return after 14 days. All The Best

While recovery varies from person to person, I typically advise taking around 2 weeks off from work. Some people will return sooner, at around 10 days after the procedure. Most people will be able to cover residual bruising at this point with makeup and look acceptable for work. It is common to feel less energetic and fatigue more easily for several weeks after surgery, so you may find your day more tiring. Try to give yourself rest when you can. In our practice, most patients take approximately two weeks off from their work environment, especially when performing strenuous activity associated with it. This is something you will have to discuss with you doctor. I tell my patients that they need to 'take it easy' for 2 weeks after surgery, this includes heavy lifting and bending over. My patients who do excessive exercising or lots of strenuous activity such as Yoga, or golfing regularly, I tell tell them to wait up to 3 weeks before resuming those activities. As you can see from all the answers, you are looking at a 2-3 week recovery, I am sure your surgeon is along the same lines, so definitely follow up and ask her advice as there are some circumstances that require further recovery, especially if you have excessive swelling or bruising after the procedure.

If good technique is used, this can be done with minimal scarring and can result in a natural look, not over-done look, with rejuvenation of your face. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Typical I recommend 3 weeks recovery after facelift and blepharoplasty surgery. Recovery does vary amongst patients. Most patients return to most activities in 3 to 4 weeks. Best of luck.

Assuming that you had facial and eyelid rejuvenation performed by a board certified facial plastic surgeon with vast experience managing the aging face-most patients would be ready and able to return to work in 2 to 3 weeks. Some patients may still be slightly bruised beyond two weeks-and make-up may be helpful in camouflaging some areas of the lower face and the upper neck at first. Moderate lifting under 20 kilograms would be ill advised until at least 3 weeks - but minor lifting and activities equivalent to low impact exercise can be entertained at about 2 weeks.
