After cataract surgery, upper eyelid ptosis is relatively common. Generally we advise waiting 6 months before deciding on ptosis surgery. Occasionally I see a patient whose vision was impaired and guess what? After cataract surgery, they begin to notice all sorts of things because their vision is a whole lot better. I think that is a good thing. If you are concerned, I recommend speaking with your general ophthalmologist regarding this issue and if appropriate have them make a referral to an oculoplastic surgeon.
Cataract surgery should not cause long term eyelid puffiness. Something more common is that the vision improves after cataract surgery and suddenly you notice more details around your eyes and face, so it is possible it has been there prior to the cataract surgery. Best to see an oculoplastic specialist.
I am wondering how long ago your cataract surgery was. Some eyelid swelling is normal, but this usually resolves after a few weeks. Best of luck.
Usually puffy lids resolve after surgery. Often, pre-existing bags under the lids are more obvious without glasses to hide them. Before and after pictures would really be useful here.
The safest thing would be to contact your surgeon performing your cataract surgery. I do not believe there is a reason not to, but I would ask them just in case.
