Is it normal to feel hungry all the time? I feel im eating more than usual ever since I got the procedure done. I Also noticed alot of itchiness on the treated area. I'm worried of getting stretch marks if I scratch ,but the itchiness doesn't go away. Another question, How many times a day should I be massaging the area? I feel I'm getting a work out on my arms from massaging the area so many times a day. Finally will a waist trimmer help to get better results?
Answer: Coolsculpting Results and Hunger--Add Radiofrequency, Thermage, Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, VASER Itching is a normal sensation after Coolsculpting and should resolve in a few weeks. Healing can be variable and increased hunger may be experienced, however, I recommend keeping with a healthy diet. Keep in mind, it can take 3-6 months for final results after Coolsculpting. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. A VASER procedure would give more contouring. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: CoolSculpting questions and concerns for a newbie. Is it normal to feel hungry all the time? The itching will pass on its own. Your question about hunger is an interesting one. Often times, without even consciously realizing it, if your clothes are snug you are less likely to feel hungry than if they are looser. This is something you need to be careful about after Cool Sculpting (or liposuction, for that matter) as you may start eating more than you used to without even realizing it, and start gaining weight. Always be cognizant of what you are eating and follow a healthy diet.

Answer: CoolSculpting after treatment CoolSculpting does not cause an increased appetite after treatment. Itching is common and will subside. Scratching will not cause stretch marks. Massage is important just after treatment but is not necessary after that. If it feels better it will not harm you. Compression garments may make you more comfortable but will not improve or harm your results. Best Wishes, Maurice Vick MD

Answer: CoolSculpting and Hunger CoolSculpting does nothing to directly affect hunger. However, if you are uncomfortable or perhaps not sleeping well because of the discomfort, you may be experiencing some stress, which can increase hunger. It is fairly typical to have itchiness after the procedure. It's ok if you scratch the area, you won't cause stretch marks to develop. Furthermore, you don't need to massage the area. If it makes the area feel better to massage it, then go ahead, but massaging the area after a treatment won't change the final results. Hope this helps, Dr. Garry K. Kim

Answer: CoolSculpting Recovery Your hunger could be a result of your body working on expelling the fat from the treated area. Be sure to drink plenty of water (more than the daily recommend amount) and eat a healthy well balanced diet. To curve your hunger, try eating 5 smaller meals a day. There are currently no studies that show ongoing massage will improve your results, but it certainly doesn't hurt to do it! Scratching the itchy areas will not cause stretch marks. Try applying BioOil (found out places like CVS, Walgreens) to the area/s for relief. Many patients like the feeling of wearing a compression garment after treatment. Nothing proven yet to show a waist trimmer will help your overall result.
