Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,
Laser resurfacing is excellent for fine lines and wrinkles. Typically either CO2 or Erbium devices are used. These wavelengths do not offer much benefit for unwanted vascularity (blood vessels) or unwanted hair. There are, however, specific devices for these as well- I would recommend consulting with a physician who uses lasers on a regular basis to explore your options.
Resurfacing lasers are typically used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, textural abnormalities, and scarring. Removal of facial hair is typically performed with different types of laser, ones that targets cells in the hair follicle. Likewise, small veins on the face are removed by lasers that target red blood cells inside the vessels to ablate them. So, while lasers can certainly be used to accomplish both of the things you mentioned, it is not specifically a resurfacing laser that will accomplish the removal of hair or vessels. Best wishes.
Laser resurfacing removes fine lines and wrinkles. You will need other kinds of laser treatments for veins and hair. Our clinic specializes in vein erasure. For the small veins on the face, we use pulsed dye lasers (PDL), intense pulsed light (IPL) and/or Nd:YAG lasers. These can treat both telangiectasias (red spider veins) and recticular (blue) veins. As for the facial hair, it can be removed with IPL. It will probably take several sessions to remove all of the hair. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in vein and hair removal.
Laser resurfacing is not the treatment of choice for vasculature and facial hair. It works best for skin texture. Here are some treatment options for you to seek out. Depending on the size of the vessels on the face, the Excel V, Pulsed dye laser or IPL are the best options vessels on the face. These energy devices work well on the red dilated blood vessels. The deeper blue colored veins which are often found around the eyes and on the temples require a more deeply penetrating laser like the 1064 ndYAG. The Cutera Excel V is a great option for both red and blue colored vessels because it has wavelengths that can treat both conditions. Depending on skin color, IPL can be used for hair removal. In dark skinned individuals, 1064 ndYAG needs to be used. Laser hair removal requires full sized dark hair and does not work on the thin, lightly colored hair which is very common. I hope this helps!
Hello, thanks for your question. Laser resurfacing, also known by its procedure name Pixel Fractional Laser, is great for improving skin texture, sun damage, pigmentation, acne scarring, scarring, skin rejuvenation, sun spots, skin tightening and wrinkles. However, when it comes to treating facial hair and small veins, laser resurfacing will not help. IPL would see better results. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a gentle, safe and cost effective way to permanently reduce unwanted hair on most parts of the body. It's also effective in minimising unwanted skin spots, leading to overall rejuvenated skin as well as a reduction in hair.Regardless which you choose, a doctors setting is the best for treatments like these. Thank you and wishing you all the very best. Stay safe and well, Dr. Murray from Absolute Cosmetic Medicine
ellree, There are certainly laser treatments that can help with facial veins and hair removal, and usually quite effectively. Laser resurfacing (i.e. CO2 or erbium) would not be the best treatment to achieve these goals. Depending on the size of the veins you may want to consider a possible Nd:Yag treatment vs an IPL treatment. Additionally there are a number of laser hair removal technologies (IPL and diode lasers). It should be noted that both may require more than one treatment. There is usually minimal downtime with these therapies, and they are well tolerated. Good luck.
laser hair removal is very effective on both the face and body and treatment of small veins on the face can be done with a laser as well but these require different types of lasers and different wavelengths so make sure where you go has both options
Laser resurfacing will not help with veins and hair on the face. You will need other types of laser treatments to accomplish this. Laser resurfacing helps decrease fine lines and wrinkles, improves pore size and appearance, smooths out the texture and color of your skin, improves the tone of your skin, and can give it a tightened appearance.
Laser resurfacing is a great treatment for fine wrinkles and can allow some tightening of the skin and a more even complexion. However laser resurfacing is NOT the ideal way of treating unwanted hair and small veins on your face. There are specific lasers for laser hair removal and specific lasers for treating superficial blood vessels. I recommend you consult with a dermatologist who has each of these lasers rather than using one laser for everything because that's all they have in the office!
