Melarase Body Brightening Kit can help reduce pigmentation and spots on the legs and arms. This takes time, but can sometimes be combined with light fractional lasers. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
Hello and thank you for your question!I would recommend getting the PICO GenesisTM laser treatment. PICO GenesisTM is an inclusive approach that can be used for people of all skin types and tones. This treatment is a great choice for treating different types of hyperpigmentation. This method uses two highly effective wavelengths of laser energy to deliver short and fast pulses to cause an intense, yet non-thermal disruption to shatter the pigmented lesions on the skin’s surface. After this happens, the laser induced shockwave will then allow for remodeling in order to create a brighter, more uniform complexion.Because of the type of laser used, picosecond, the treatment is very fast and results in little to no downtime. Patients can generally see optimal results in as little as one to two treatments with PICO GenesisTM, but you should consult your medical provider to determine the best treatment plan for your individual case.Be mindful that with sun exposure, there is always the risk of recurring hyperpigmentation. To avoid this, make sure to properly apply sunscreen whenever you are exposed to the sun. Again, you should consult a medical provider to decide on the best course of treatment for your specific concerns.Hope this helps!
Thank you for your question. We would suggest a series of IPL treatments four to six weeks apart to effectively reduce hyperpigmentation, preferably, in the fall or winter months. Be sure to use sunscreen daily.
We recommend for age spots and sun damage a non-invasive laser such as Clear+Brilliant or Fraxel Dual. The Clear+Brillian laser has minimal downtime and great results. The laser has two hand pieces one for texture/pore size and one for color (pigmented spots)-Permea handpiece. Whereas the Fraxel Dual has a bit more downtime (and cost) but usually has more significant results. Usually we recommend at least four to six treatments depending on your response at a month a part.
Hello and thank you for your question. I would recommend a consultation with a board certified provider who will be able to assess your skin type and the age spots of concern. Typically,if you are a candidate, the IPL gives excellent results for our patients. However, this treatment is based on what the provider will assess at the time of the consultation. I hope this information helps you and best of luck!
Our office offers Lumecca photothermolysis, or intense pulsed light, to treat the age spots not only on the arms and legs but also on the face. Following the treatment, spots usually will darken over the next 24-48 hours. Within the week, the pigmented lesions flake off, leaving an even skin tone. You will need to avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning one month prior to and a few days following the treatment. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or aesthetic dermatologist who offers this treatment. You may only need one session, but that will depend upon the number and size of the dark spots.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
These can be improved with lasers (Fraxel, Tattoo) and microneedling/prp. It may take a series of treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Hi saradenise, There is a long list of option for this specific issue. I have tried many of them and to be honest, I love the result I get with BBL (broad band light) treatments. It works by delivering a heat to the upper layer of your skin and the targeted areas will stimulate you cells to regenerate and removed the unwanted pigment, restoring you natural beauty. It will give you a smoother, vibrant and younger looking skin. Hope this helps, Dr. RG
