He has good bedside manner, he is pleasant to communicate with. I appreciate his feedback on not needing a full facelift yet. He is honest and I feel that he wants what is best for you thus inspiring confidence. I loved that he personally called to follow up during my healing process. I never felt rushed during my visits. His staff are very friendly and professional. This are the procedures I had done: Brow Lift - Endoscopic Blepharoplasty - Lower lid Cosmetic Rhinoplasty I am posting before and after photos to show the difference after Rhinoplasty. I was hoping for a more streamlined look, I see a slight improvement.
This site and other people's experiences have helped immensely. The best reviews, in my opinion, have been the step-by-step ones. So, here we go. Step 1: I have hated my nose since middle school. I had some mean friends in middle school who drew a stick picture of "me" with a "big ugly witch nose". Which honestly, middle school isn't a good time for anyone when it comes to looks but I grew "in" to my nose a little and it didn't bother me as much through high school. I got used to never taking photos from a side angle and continued my life. Obviously, my nose continued to grow too. My senior year of college, I had the money and decided to move forward with the surgery. I met with a handful of surgeons and ultimately chickened out. Now in my mid-30s, I got married, had two kids, divorced and recently re-married. My wedding day was one of the happiest days of my life and I got my photos back and hated all the side angle photos, the photos themselves were beautiful, all except for my nose. My husband is my biggest supporter and fell in love with me with my “old nose” but also understands the power of insecurities and stands behind whatever I should choose so he is promising to take care of me during my recovery. ;) My co-worker recently had a septoplasty, and her recovery was great. It gave me the umph to get back out there and start researching again. I had a consult here in Sioux Falls and the surgeon was amazingly nice, didn't rush through, explained all the expectations with the surgery and seemed very confident we could achieve realistic expectations. The only thing holding me back was he didn't do a ton of noses a year, but not as many as the surgeons I spoke with in Omaha. I continued looking and had a virtual consult with a surgeon. He, also, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care when asking me questions about myself. He said he did about 50 noses per year which made me feel more comfortable. Lastly, I met with Dr. Harbison. His business intrigued me as he specializes in only facial plastic surgery. I was very impressed to learn he does 2-6 noses per WEEK. I assumed the surgery would be very costly considering his specialization, but it was in-line with the other offices I spoke with, and they upfront about pricing from the beginning and didn't give me the whole runaround before "revealing" their pricing. (Just a personal pet peeve of mine, I'm all about transparency and time efficiency) They preferred me to come in for an in-person consult and did an amazing job of squeezing my husband and I into a late in the day appointment, so we didn't have to take an entire day off work. Ashley was an angel in all her emails. Super friendly, helpful and straightforward. When we showed up for our consult, we didn't wait for even one second in the waiting room. It was a pleasure to finally meet Ashley, and her personality was the same as through her emails, positive, straightforward, knowledgeable, and helpful. She took us straight back to do photos where their program combines the photos together to give a 180 degree before and "after". After that, she brought us to another room where we waited less than five minutes for the doctor. When he came in Ashley had already briefed him on my concerns, so he had a pretty good idea of a gameplan, but also asked me to reiterate to make sure there was no question of my expectations. Dr. H was very responsive and listened to what I was looking for. He showed me the computer-generated images of what my "after" was intended to be. It. Looked. So. Good. It was still me; the nose didn't look "done" it just finally fit my face. After Dr. H answered all of our immediate questions, Ashley hung around to talk though any additional concerns I had. She was very open and relaxed, to where it was more like chatting with a friend. I booked my surgery for just less than six weeks. I am beyond excited and will post updates as my journey continues! Updated on 22 Sep 2022: Today I got my physical and bloodwork to clear me for surgery. I also booked a hotel room for the night before surgery, Omaha is a three hour drive, this way we can wake up and walk over for my 7am surgery. I've been watching a ton of videos when people get their casts removed and just cry because they are so happy with their results. I'm super excited! :) Updated on 29 Jan 2023: I had the best experience! The whole team was super warm and friendly, helping to keep me comfortable before putting me under. The entire process was about three hours. Everyone who says recovery is more of a mental rollercoaster is correct. I had no real pain. My surgeon was just as concerned with the inside of my nose with the exterior, so I had a hard cast and splints that were annoying but I expected to not be able to breathe out of them at all, I didn’t realize they were open in the middle so I had a little airflow. The first three days were rough. Very “stingy”. I was very groggy and out of it. Sleeping sitting up was my biggest complaint. I ended putting my neck out of place and that caused the most real pain, a few visits to the chiropractor fixed me right up. I preferred not to take the pain pills after day three. They made me pretty dizzy, by day four I was on the up and up. I really just wanted out of the house. Eating/chewing food was interesting so I stuck to pastas that I could take very small bites of and easily reheat. I completely quit drinking two weeks prior which was tough, I LIVE for my nightly glass of wine and started taking arnica three days before (and continued one week post). I also used the arnica gel, I can’t say if any of that made recovery better, but it was worth it to try. My bruising wasn’t too bad at all. I saw SO many photos where people look like they were hit by a train. My swelling is still going down even at three months post, especially at the tip of my nose. My biggest regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. My new nose looks completely natural and most importantly, I still look like me, something that I was very concerned with. Whenever I catch my reflection in the mirror, I’m SO happy with what I see!
The procedure was completed in less than an hour. Do your research on all of the risks before undergoing surgery. I was worried prior to the procedure, and it was little unpleasant. It's not the surgeon's fault, but you can feel the pulling as they go deeper in search of the fat pad. You will experience some discomfort, but everything is well once the doctor provides more lidocaine. I'm on day 2 of my post-recovery. There were no issues such as nerve or parotid duct complications for me.
Lower face lift, blepharoplasty (upper and lower) fat transfer procedures. Dr Harbison is a top not surgeon. Staff is excellent. I felt so at ease as he took the time to answer my questions and fully educate me as to what to expect. I highly recommend him! I am so happy with the results, I feel 10 + years younger now compared to my 53 year old "old" face. Best gift I could give to myself Updated on 15 Oct 2020: Fully recovered and loving my new look. No more wrinkled neck, no more droopy eyelids Updated on 7 Nov 2020: Very pleased with each passing day. Such a good decision. I have my young eyes back and a youthful neck Updated on 15 Feb 2021: Still amazed every time I look in the mirror Updated on 16 Feb 2021: Updated on 1 Jun 2021: Updated on 18 Jan 2022:
I had a great experience with Dr. Harbison and his staff. The whole staff at Omaha Face were amazing and so helpful. They answered all my questions and made me feel so comfortable through the whole process. Dr. Harbison really gets to know you and figure out what the best options are. Truly cares about you as a patient. After getting a rhinoplasty and septoplasty I am so happy with my results. I would recommend him 110%.
Dr. Harbison and his entire staff are so welcoming and personable it made the whole experience as comfortable as possible. I looked around the Omaha area for a plastic surgeon to perform my rhinoplasty for the past few years. I had a few consultations with other highly rated plastic surgeons but once I met with Dr. Harbison I knew he was the right surgeon for me. My consultation wasn’t rushed and didn’t feel cold, he walked me through the entire process, took photos to give me a better idea of what he could do for me. Not just that, but the office was top of the line and his staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Ashley, the office director, was so sweet and walked me through financing and pre/post op care. She gave me her cell number to reach in case I had any questions throughout the entire process. After my surgery I had a few concerns about swelling and bruising and her and Dr. Harbison answered all of my questions and put my worries at bay. They even called in to check on me during my post op. I would recommend him and his staff to all of my friends and family. It was a great experience and I’m so happy I went with Dr H!
Finally got rid of the hereditary "witch chin" yesterday with liposuction along my jawline. He also removed some fat I had behind the muscle under my chin. I can't believe what a great job he did. It is only day 2 of recovery and I can already see a huge difference! I am incredibly happy. Updated on 22 Jul 2019: I should have specified before that the procedure for my chin involved shaving the bone and also removing soft tissue. Today I am still very swollen. My chin looks bigger than it originally was but I am staying hopeful because I saw what it looked like before the swelling got too bad so I know I will be very happy once it’s all gone. Here is what it looks like today. I have a ton of bruising which I tried to cover with makeup. Went back to work today. Pain is not too bad at all. Updated on 23 Jul 2019: My chin is still huge but I’m barely feeling any pain at this point. It’s weird because this is the most invasive surgery I’ve had yet it is probably the least painful. I’m trying so hard to be patient but I know it will take months for the swelling to go away based off the other reviews I’ve read. I can’t wait for my chin to look the way it did on day #2 before swelling got this bad. That picture has been my motivation to be patient! Lol. I don’t wear my chin strap to work but I put it on right when I get home and wear it to bed as well. The strap gives me a headache and makes me almost light headed but I push through it because I know it is crucial during recovery. Updated on 24 Jul 2019: Not too much has changed today. Pain is still bearable. Don’t need pain meds anymore. Swelling is verrrrry slowly dissipating. Here is a pic before and after of me smiling. You can definitely see a difference which will only get better. My chin feels like a rock. I pray that when all the swelling is gone it looks like it did the day after the procedure. Updated on 27 Aug 2019: My chin is still slightly tender but everything feels great. At this point I am just waiting for residual swelling and scar tissue to subside completely but overall I am extremely happy with my results. I have been massaging the incision site with vitamin e oil daily (once it was fully healed) and it has already softened significantly. Updated on 27 Aug 2019: I am uploading more before pics for better comparison. It’s like a had a big ball of tissue on my chin! Updated on 30 Aug 2019: Here are more side profile pics as of 8/30/19. For reference; my chin used to stick out almost as far as my nose!! I had a followup earlier this week and we agreed that when I get fat transfer to face done, he will add some fat to the mentolabial fold to soften my chin even more. (That is the area between your chin and lip). Updated on 10 Sep 2019: The before pics I found were before I had ANY surgery done. Wow! Look what Dr Harbison has done for me! The area under my chin he tucked in, lipo along my jawline and und chin, and my beautiful chin reduction! You can really see how I had a big ball of tissue on my chin lol!! SO happy! Updated on 22 Sep 2019: For the first time in my life I don’t feel insecure about my face. I am so thankful for Dr Harbison’s skill in this procedure. As my chin continues to soften I am more amazed by the results every day. Updated on 23 Oct 2019: Just adding more pics for an update :) :) :) Updated on 18 Dec 2019: I think it’s been about 5 months now. I’m still so grateful for what Dr Harbison has done for me. I don’t cringe when I see my side profile anymore and that is something that’s bothered me my whole life. Although we shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves, it is surely a great feeling to completely eliminate an insecurity! Updated on 3 May 2020: I don’t know exactly how long it’s been now, but occasionally I’ll take pictures of my side profile and just admire how much better I look. Not in a vein way... but more in “awe” of how great my doctor did not only with my chin but with the jawline contouring as well.
I got my lips done 2 months ago. He used the cannula technique. My lips had lost some fullness and I was happy with my lip shape but wanted more volume. I love my results! I feel so natural and cute. Swelling was a little embarrassing, but didn’t stop my life at all. The cannula was painful but it was over quickly. I also went back in for a touch up 2 weeks later. I plan to do this again in a year when it wears off. Also he is so nice and really listens! Updated on 14 Jul 2019: This was the only before pic I could find on my phone. It’s low quality but gives an idea. Updated on 14 Jul 2019: All swelling is gone and happy with my results! There is still some asymmetry but I don’t mind because I didn’t want to over correct either, and that just how my lips are! These pics are with no makeup on. Updated on 14 Jul 2019: A few days before with lipstick Updated on 14 Jul 2019: One makeup/lipstick and one with none. Another bonus is that the corners of my mouth seem to naturally turn up a bit now. Hopefully the results last for a while.
Wonderful. Is not rushed very knowledgeable and honest. Will tell you what you don’t need. The office staff are patient, kind, and humorous. Dr.harbison is very talented and does an amazing job. My brow lift turned out amazing.
Amazing Doctor and staff. I traveled from out of town and the office was very accommodating on appointment and treatment time. Every step was professional and welcoming. Questions were answered thoroughly and procedure was discussed in detail. Will definitely visit office again.
Thanks for your question. The cost of a facelift procedure can be quite variable based on geography, surgeon, anesthesia fees, and if there are other concurrent procedures. It is important to note that many patients who are good candidates for facelifting would also benefit from other procedures. Facelift surgery is great at lifting and suspending tissue that has fallen with age, but volume restoration skin treatment are also very important to restoring youth. As such, my to approach aging face surgery is to consider all these factors to fight the right surgical plan to fit the patient, rather than finding the right patient to fit a surgical procedure (ie facelift). This frequently involves fat grafting, laser resurfacing, neck contouring, and eyelid/brow treatments. These are most often done under IV sedation. Cost may range from $7,000 to $15,000 depending on the extent of surgery. A thorough consultation is very important to evaluate your concerns and form an individualized plan.
I am very sorry to hear about your experience. As others have mentioned rhinoplasty can be a difficult operation, and there is a know revision rate of around 3-5%. While it is understandably frustrating to have wait for correction, at least 12 months is recommended. This is truly with your best interest in mind, as operating sooner decreases the chance of success, and the need for a 3rd surgery!. The nose continues to change over the first year, and going in for revision too early can be viewed as hitting moving target. These continued changes include resolving edema, possible warping of cartilage grafts, and an evolving skin envelope over the new cartilage and bone framework. Good luck.
Thanks for your question. There are many factors that contribute to the cost of rhinoplasty. This may include any previous surgery (revision), anesthesia preferences, and the complexity of the procedure. Each nose needs to be approached individually. That being said, the average cost of rhinoplasty is between $5,000 and $10,000. I will reiterate what others have said in that your comfort level in the surgeon, their experience with this procedure, as well as their aesthetic taste should be a guiding factors in the decision rather than price. Good luck.
Miemmi402, We do this procedure often at our office. We have found it to be a great option in the right patient. The permalip is a very natural implant while still giving adequate augmentation. This procedure can be done under local anesthesia in the office, and is both permanent, but also removable if needed. Thanks,Dr. Harbison
Cheli805, Thanks for your question. The submental area that are you concerned with can be treated in several ways. It is important to determine if excess adipose tissue or skin laxity is the problem (it can be both). At 38, it’s unlikely that skin laxity is your biggest problem, (although an exam would be needed to say for sure). Kybella is one option to reduce the fat in the region. My preferred treatment of choice is ProLipo Plus (laser assisted liposuction). This has the ability to remove excess fat in the region, but also has the benefit of tightening the skin with a second laser wavelength. Like kybella, it can be done in the office, and the downtime is quite minimal. If skin laxity end up being the bigger issue, treatments such as skintyte or radio frequency skin treatments would likely be the place to start.
