Hello! To answer your question, generally swelling may make your nose appear larger than what your outcome will be once the swelling subsides. With any Rhinoplasty, swelling may linger for up to 12 months, but most of the swelling dissipates by your three month mark.
Hello and thank you for your question. It really depends on the specific techniques used by your surgeon during the surgery. With certain techniques, such as septal extension graft or tongue in groove technique the tip will not drop with time after surgery, and if it is over-rotated it will likely stay in that position. This is one of many reasons it is so critical to evaluate your surgeon’s long-term before and after pictures on their website. When patients have a hanging columella, a columella-plasty is performed which involves removal of an excess amount of skin and cartilage in that area from an incision on the inside of the nose. When patients have wide nostrils, an Alar plasty is performed.
