Without seeing a photo of you it is difficult to see if you are healing correctly and if you arestill having some swelling and bruising. At 8 days it is common to still be and mask your results. It mayalso be that you have fluid that needs to be removed. I would suggest you go back to see your surgeon for a follow up visit to make sure you are on the right track to recovery. Best of luck to you!
It is way too soon to see your results, swelling can take several weeks to resolve, try to be patient. Be sure to follow all of your surgeon's post operative instructions. Good luck.
Your final results take time. You just had surgery. Your chest is swollen. The swelling makes your breasts look bigger. It will resolve but it takes time. Sometimes 3-6 months. For now, be patient. I know it's frustrating but the body needs to heal....
It will take time for your gynecomastia surgery to show results. I typically have my patients wear a compressive vest for 4 weeks after surgery to help keep swelling down. Depending on the type of gynecomastia surgery you had, it will take some time. Follow the directions of your surgeon.
You are still in the healing stage, and swelling is normal. This will make it difficult for you to notice any difference until after everything has settled down. To speed up this process it is important that you rest your upper body and wear your compression vest. Make sure that you follow up with your PS who can monitor your healing. Best wishes!
First of all, congratulations on your gynecomastia surgery! At this point, I won’t worry too much about the final appearance of my surgery because it’s still swelling. It’s natural that you’ll notice no change at all eight days post-op. You’ll start to see results a few weeks after your surgery, and the final results around six months post-op.Remember to consult your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon for follow-up checkups.Best of luck!
Under treatment of gynecomastia is not uncommon. Knowing the endpoint of treatment is something experienced surgeons have learned. How much do you remove and how much do you leave? The results of gynecomastia treatment should be immediate--right off the table you should see a big difference. Swelling does occur afterwards but this doesn't make for a result that you can't tell any difference. I would suggest that you visit with your surgeon after things have settled down and ask him/her for their input and advice.
This is normal - you should expect some swelling after surgery, and after 8 days, very little of the swelling will have resolved. Be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions carefully and wear your compression vest if you were instructed to do so.George Pope, MD
When I do surgery on male breast enlargement, I remove the gland and suction around the chest to improve the shape as well. I use drains and a vest for compression and patients see a difference early.Without knowing the exact procedure it is hard to guess.Early swelling resolves.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated. It is not uncommon to still manifest swelling from your surgery at 6 weeks and I would recommend allowing your results more time to mature. Continue to use a co...
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Unfortunately it is difficult to know exactly what will take place because of an inability to assess your tissues. If the hematoma was large enough it may take several months to fully resolve, if it all. If your tissues are still swollen fro...
Thank you for sharing your question. Always best to follow your surgeon's instructions on recovery, but after two weeks I start patients on gentle incision and chest massage and application of a silicone based scar cream. I have attached a link below with additional information you may find ...
