Hi, I have performed many facelifts over the past 30 years and many, minimally invasive type SMAS facelifts. At 3 months, the healing should be complete however each face is different and only your Facelift Surgeon knows what exactly was done during your facelift. You should discuss your concerns with your Facelift Surgeon and get specific post op recommendations on how to reduce the swelling over your cheeks. While more aggressive and invasive type facelifts like a traditional facelift, mid face, deep plane and sub periosoteal facelifts can have prolonged facial swelling and recovery, one of the reasons that my most popular facelift is the minimally invasive, short incision facelift is that it has all the benefits of more invasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face, deep plane, cheek lift and subperiosteal facelifts) but with these added benefits:very small incisions and no incisions extend or are placed within the hair.minimal tissue dissection = less bruising and swelling = rapid recovery measured in days instead of weeks or months with the more invasive type facelifts can be performed in 90 minutes or less, with or without general anesthesiano incisions within the hair = no hair lossexcess fat can be removedexcess skin removedcheeks, chin and jaw line can be augmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or facial implantsmost patients fly back home to parts all over the world in as little as 3 days post-opHope this helps.
