Help! I had liposuction on flanks abdomen and lower back 3.5 weeks ago. My upper abdomen looks like there is an upside down v and it is not smooth or even. How can this be fixed? Is this still healing from liposuction or this a result from a bad technique during surgery? And how can I correct it? Is there a non surgical way to fix this?
Answer: Questionable thus far Thank you for your picture. You still have some time for swelling to decrease over the next 2 to 5 months. I would give this as much time to settle as possible. It appears that you have some contour irregularities but time will tell. If you do you have contour irregularities this can be improved with judicious revision liposuction and possible fat grafting.

Answer: Contour irregularities are common for weeks to months after liposuction. I can't guarantee that you will get a good result but it's much too early to make a pronouncement. Contour irregularities in the short-term are common after liposuction.

Answer: Liposuction Results 4 Weeks After Surgery You are likely swollen and it would be best to consider ultrasound or massage treatment. I would suggest waiting 3-6 months prior to considering a revision. It may be good to get a second in person opinion. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: 4 Weeks post Liposuction. Does this look like bad results or am I still healing? How can I fix this? Although the swelling will improve with the passing weeks, I am afraid that the visible contour defects that you have are permanent. You did not mentioned whether or not you've had kids or your age. I have frequently found that middle age, child bearing women, even when they are thin, just don't have enough elasticity for that skin to rebound after a liposuction of the abdomen. I also don't know if you had lymphatic massages with the use of ultrasound but we routinely advice our patients to do so.You ave to wait it out at least another 3 months. It's possible to go back in, release the tissue and perform a fat transfer in an attempt at contour correction. Good luck

Answer: Liposuction results Thank you for your question. I understand your concerns, however, you are still very early in the recovery process. It can take up to 6 months for the swelling to resolve and at that time you can determine if there is are contour abnormalities. I would continue to wear a garment to help with swelling and let your plastic surgeon know your concerns. Good luck.
