I’m right handed. When I move my arm certain ways I feel a pulling sensation in my right breast . Today I finally caught it And it was like my nipple was stuck and trying to pop out but I saw my skin right under it moving a little like something was tugging at it . Is that normal ? What is that ? My right side also feels more sore than my left because I use it more I guess. I also thought I pulled a muscle last week opening a door at a restaurant. But other than that my only concern is pulling feeling .
Answer: Recovery after breast augmentation It is normal to have one side be more tender than the other. Your activity is letting your body know that it is not quite ready for that level. Most likely that is the cause of the pulling feeling. When concerned, though, always a good idea to check in with your surgeon. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Answer: Dominant Hand Syndrome After Breast Augmentation xocurleyhead. You are quite observant! It is extremely common to experience feelings that you describe less than two weeks after breast augmentation. Your body needs to adapt to the implants and the overlying skin and muscle also has to relax and all this is occurring during the first few months. The dominant side usually feels more sore because of increased use. Try to stay patient and not worry too much and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck

Answer: Odd sensations after breast augmentation Hi, This is very common in the early post op recovery period. You are not even two weeks and you just need to take it a little easier. I assume that the implants are under the muscle and this causes may odd feelings like burning, bruising, pain, numbness etc. All quite common in the early weeks and months. Be a little less active until movement does not feel odd. Very common complaints in my practice. Stay close to your surgeon to make sure that you are guided correctly.

Answer: Symptoms after augmentation The symptoms that you described are not uncommon after having a breast augmentation. The symptoms may also be more pronounced on your dominant side. It doesn't sound like anything serious at the moment, so I would recommend having patience and following up with your plastic surgeon. Hope this helps!

Answer: All your sensations are normal and nothing to worry about try to relax and not analyze every discomfort. the two sides will never feel the same - one side will be more uncomfortable. One side will swell more. the muscles are stretched over the implant and that gives the pulling and stretching sensation. the nerves are stretched and many women describe feeling "burning" or "electric shocks". These will all go away in time. i encourage my patients to stretch their arms and shoulders immediately after surgery and to do it a few times every hour that they are awake.david berman md
