I have blepharitis and now my vision is getting blurry, is there something more going on?

Dear NBcollis,Blepharitis, especially posterior blepharitis (MGD), can cause blurry vision due to abnormal tear film. Our refraction is very much affected by abnormal tear film. The first thing the light that is brought to our eyes come to contact with is the tear film over the cornea. If that tear film is not healthy and not smooth, it brakes the light differently that it should and causes refractive error and that in term is blurry vision. So you really need to get your blepharitis under control. There are some new techniques to treat blepharitis including IPL treatment. Have you been put on dose of Minocycline 50 mg per day for 6 to 8 weeks? Bring these option to your doctor and see what he or she thinks of them. 

A change in vision should always prompt a visit to the ophthalmologist (Eye MD).  They will carefully assess the eye status and determine the basis for your visual change.  There are also very effective treatments for blepharitis.
