I have a wave like fluid after a Tummy Tuck. Any suggestions?

A typical abdominoplasty is a powerful procedure that
often removes and reposition tissue of the abdominal wall for better contour
and aesthetics. After an abdominoplasty, the skin swells from the trauma of
surgery fluid collects between the abdominal wall and the skin. The fluid
that collects is typically managed with drains. Without drains, fluid collections
are often managed with serial aspirations and, if persistent, operative drainage.
A detailed examination will help delineate the best treatment. Close follow-up with the surgeon is essential.

Much likely you did not rest enough, your immobility is not absolute (trip back and so) and now the interstitial undermined layer is not healing and you have a cavity filled by serum (body water).Do address this issue to the nearest PS, may need evacuation.

 Expectant treatment of the large seromas after abdominoplasty is improper. The seroma can get organized   Or even infected. Proper treatment is drainage.

You should go the plastic surgeon that performed the operation and have it evaluated. If it is a seroma it may be beneficial to have it aspirated or drained.

 I am sorry to hear about the problem you are experiencing after tummy tuck surgery. Based on your description, it sounds like you are dealing with a seroma.  If this is the case, it is probably in your best interests to have it drained.  Often, several aspirations are necessary. I would suggest that you seek consultation with a well experienced plastic surgeon in your area;  hopefully, you will find one who will be willing to help you with postoperative management. It sounds as though you have developed a fluid collection between the rectus ("six-pack") muscles and skin flap, which is called a seroma.  This is one of the most common complications after abdominoplasty.  I recommend the safest option which is to consult a plastic surgeon in your area to determine whether aspiration (drainage) may be of benefit.  In the meantime, I advise you to observe for any warning signs of infection (including redness, increasing pain, drainage from the incision, or fever).Best,Stephanie Power MD, FRCSC

Chances are that a fluid collection large as you seem to be describing may very well not resorb, and may need to be dealt with by a surgeon. Your options are seeing your surgeon, or trying to find someone near you who is willing to offer treatment. This is a hazard of out of the country surgery. Best wishes.

Hi, Small seromas after tummy tuck can resolve on their own, large seromas would  need to be drained. It would be prudent to visit a plastic surgeon in your locality ( if you cannot go to your original surgeon) and get it assessed.
