What options do I have to get rid of my banana roll? (photo)

Question

Opinions how do I get rid of it? I had fat transfer to my ass and banana rolls 6 weeks ago to fix aggressive Lipo done by another surgeon. The plastic surgeon has done her best with what was a mess she is wonderful . However she was realistic with me and said it might not work on all the rolls. One side seems to be ok the other, the roll is back. I wore the compression for 6 weeks,I’m undergoing skin tightening monthly with the skintite machine. Will a thigh lift be my only option now? Thanks

Hello, Thank you for your question regarding what can be done to get rid of your banana roll. Basically, there are two ways to approach this problem. You can either fill the banana roll with fat transfer or you can remove the skin and fat from the banana roll. As you know, during fat transfer, fat is harvested from the abdomen or lower thighs and injected into the banana roll. The other option is direct excision of the banana roll skin. By removing the banana roll skin and fat, an incision is made in the infra-gluteal fold and excess banana roll skin and fat are directly  excised. The infra-gluteal fold scar usually heals well.  Fat grafting to the banana role takes approximately 2 hours. Excision of excess skin and fat in the banana role takes approximately 3 hours to perform under general anesthesia. Based on your photo, I don’t think a thigh lift will do little to help you get rid of your banana roll. Fat transfer should have been the best solution, but your plastic surgeon’s right that it won’t work on everything. You may try to have fat transfer again once you’ve fully recovered, but right now, I don’t think there’s anything more that can be done.
