What are the typical pre-operative test involved in the surgerical process?

I have my patients get medical clearance from their primary care doctor, several blood tests, hormone panel and based on age - chest X-ray, EKG and cardiac stress test.

Healthy patients require no preoperative testing.  Patients with medical issues have tests which vary based on their medical issues.  Young men with gynecomastia require no tests.

Some patients do not need blood work,and others do. It depends upon you age, and your overall medical history. Best of luck.

A history and physical is required for all patients.  Depending upon your age and medical condition other studies such as a complete blood count and serum electrolytes may also be performed.  At age over 50 or 60 a EKG and medical clearance may also be needed.  Everything is done to

In certain cases I also check a hormone panel prior to surgery.As for the safety, the procedure is very safe. First,there is no connection to the heart,and the gynecomastia surgery is safe.The pre op test are just to make sure that you do not have any problems like diabetes,heart dis etc. The most important part is to choose an experienced gynecomastia surgeon.  How should I choose a surgeon?  Choose carefully. The decision is yours. Advice to assist in making your selection.Only a board certified plastic surgeon
1. Experience matters. Choosing a surgeon increases the likelihood that they have seen a case similar to yours in the past. Selecting a surgeon whose practice is focused on gynecomastia exclusively is also an indicator of experience.
2. Results matter. The more before-and-after pictures, the better. Pay attention whether the surgeon is confident enough to show multiple angles of the same patient.
3.Only gynecomastia Reviews matter.
4. Expertise matters. Is your surgeon recognized by the profession as an authority in the field? Have they authored books or medical journal articles regarding your surgery?
Be realistic about your expectations. Also, revision surgery tends to be significantly more difficult than initial surgery.
