Is Renuva a permanent filler for cheeks?

Hello, I've tried numerous fillers into my cheeks and it looks good at first but my body seems to metabolize them quickly. I was thinking about fat transfer because it has the potential to be permanent but then I heard about Renuva. Is this a good permanent option for cheeks? Any information is appreciated! Thanks!

Grafting your own fat is the best option.  It looks natural and has the potential for longterm correction.  Renuva is cadaveric fat and quite expensive.  Not many practitioners have experience with longterm results of using this in the face.

Renuva is essentially an off-the-shelf fat graft alternative.  My experience with it is that one needs more product than you'd initially expect, to get the contour desired.  It may take more than one session to obtain correction.  But it works, and is long-lasting.

Renuva could be an option for semi permanent enhancement of areas. It stimulates your own fat to grow so is very very dose dependent. Meaning most injectors DO NOT injected enough of the product. Because not enough experience with the product, or the patient reluctant due to high costs per cc injected ( around $600/mixed cc injected)...

The issues with this product are in someways similar to those of facial fat transfer.  The results are somewhat unpredictable leading some patience to not have enough volume versus being over treated.  Fillers remain the most precise and predictable.  Some fillers or long lasting. Some of the longest lasting are Bellafulill which can last up to five years.  Sufficient volumes are generally needed for all fillers for patients to appreciate that they last.  The shortest lasting fillers tend to be HA fillers.  These have been reported to last between six months and three years. To give an accurate assessment in regards to how long they last I would suggest dividing that by half.  When the HA filler Voluma came out it was touted as lasting 3 years.  The study claiming this used between 3 to 5 mL per person.  If you put 5 mL  in one area of any filler you will get results  that last reasonably long.  The problem is when people use 1 mL to treat an entire face they're not going to get results that last.  Fat transfer is probably preferable over Renuva I had a good way to approach fat transfer is with the idea that you will have a few treatments six months apart to slowly build up the volume that you need knowing that once taken the results will be permanent.  It's a worthwhile investment to plan on doing several treatments gradually building up the volume. That way you minimize yourself becoming one of the many people who have posted on real self desperately asking how the fat previously transferred to the face can be removed.  As frustrating as it can be to pay good money for treatments and products that don't last or are underwhelming the alternative is worse.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

It typically takes years to answer a question like this. Any product or procedure that is new is by definition untested by time and neither docs nor pts nor the company have experience with it. No one knows how long it will last, how to remove it or if the fat will grow.  Is there a one-to one replacement of the product with fat?   If you feel like getting it you will be a pioneer.
