I am trying to figure up the total price of everything for my surgery, and I am curious if you have to have professional lymphatic massages after you have a Brazilian butt lift or if it's something you are able to do yourself ?

Answer: Lymphatic massage Lymphatic massage can be very effective for swelling of the extremities after liposuction and body contouring procedures. However, this is purely elective and not a mandatory component.

Answer: Your question about Lymphatic Drainage Massages... ANSWER: Following liposuction it is important that you receive Lymphatic Drainage Massages (LDM). It does not necessarily need to be done by a professional, it is of more importance that these massages are done consistently throughout your recovery period. This post-surgical lymphedema following liposuction is caused by inflammation and trauma from the cannula (instrument that sucks out the fat) moving under the skin. Channels are formed by the cannula that can fill up with fluid and the tissue also becomes swollen. Manual LDM helps to move the fluid by gently pumping it back into the lymph vessels. Without LDM the inflammation can evolve into fibrosis (a permanent hardening of the tissue) or a seroma (pocket of serum) can form. LDM helps to ensure you’ll achieve the best results possible from the surgery.As always, I recommend you check with your surgeon for their specific recommendations.
