I have a dorsal hump after rhinoplasty. Is it swelling?

It is now 8 weeks post op after septorhinoplasty and my bridge is still very large. My surgeon stated because I had a septoplasty, osteotomy, and rasping of the bridge for rhinoplasty he expected the bridge to be a little longer to heal. I love to exercise and it pulsates a lot after and during my days just working. I am concerned, though, that it will stay like this because it has been two month and most posts on here state that swelling should be almost gone by now. Will it go down anymore?

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with 2 months after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Swelling over the cartilage differs from swelling over the more rigid bone after rhinoplasty.  If the fullness is due to the swelling it will resolve with time.  Usually around month 6 you get a good idea of how things will settle though final results are determined at 1 year.

Dear souldfor, Typically at two months the majority of the swelling from the dorsal hump area has dissipated however you may have some residual swelling still present for the next few months. The tip swelling is typically the final swelling to resolve and this can take an entire year. I would suggest continuing to sleep elevated, avoid any exposure sun, reduce your salt intake and in a month you can revisit your surgeon with further concerns if still present.
