Thank you for your question. Your own surgeon will be the best source of advice because BWD is not a precise measurement. The breasts do not have exact borders so the surgeon who estimated your BWD will presumably also have done an assessment of your skin tone, tissue thickness and breast shape, which all impact on your breast implant selection. In general moderate profile implants are less projecting from the chest than full profile, assuming the implants you are comparing are a similar size.

The varying profiles among implants means that same amount of volume will create a different look in a moderate profile implant as opposed to a high profile implant. None of the modalities to approximate final results from breast implants are 100% accurate; they merely facilitate the patient and the board certified PS concurring on the size and type of breast implant which will come the closest to reaching the patient's goal. My patients prefer to try on sizers under garments they typically wear to determine if they fit as expected and help allay some of their trepidation associated with this decision. There is not a lot of difference between the 345cc and 385cc in overall result.
I would recommend that you go with that size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy.

I recommend an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of former patients with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the implants have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without knowing what your goals are it is difficult to offer definite advice. In most cases a larger, full profile implant will look “less” natural than a moderate profile one, which are better at achieving a smooth upper breast border and improved cleavage. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your question. Without an examination in person or photographs it is hard to precisely respond to your inquiry. That said, the full profile implants generally do make more of a statement with regard roundness and upper pole fullness which tends to be more of an augmented look and less of a natural appearance.

With your stats I think you are in the right territory. See if your PS can size you with samples in a testing bra. I find it most helpful when my patients can look at actual implants in their own clothing in front of a full length mirror.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Implant selection should be done based on your natural anatomy. The implant should be picked based on the diameter of your natural breast and then the profile should be increased based on how many cc you want to add. The diameter of the implant is the most important aspect just needs to fit your anatomy. for those who are pushing more volume higher profiles are needed to stay within the same diameter.

In general lower profile implants will give them more natural appearance.

These are decisions you should make during in person consultations with a local board-certified plastic surgeon.

There are many different factors that go into choosing a breast implant size which will correspond with your body dimensions while concurrently achieving your aesthetic results. Some of these factors are: Implant size (CC's), Implant profile (Low, Moderate, High), Placement of the implant (Subglandular vs. Dual Plane) etc. We utilize smooth round cohesive silicone gel 'gummy bear' implants for the best results.
During a consultation your aesthetic goals are heard and taken into account with the measurements of your breasts and the integrity of your tissue, as well as level of ptosis (sag).
