Hi, I’m looking to have my buttock lifted. Is this the ideal procedure to bring tightness to my hips, buttocks and lose love handle skin? Is this a pretty straight forward procedure and what is recovery like? I’ve previously had tummy tuck and was very happy with results I’ve attached photo with skin lifted up for reference Thanks :)
Answer: Butt implant buttock augmentation buttock implant buttock implant expert butt implant insertion big butt Hello ADZZ89, Thank you for your inquiry about the best surgical procedure to address tightness in your hips, buttocks, and to remove excess skin in the love handle area. Based on the details and photos you've provided, a butt lift or posterior body lift would be the most suitable option for you. During this procedure, an incision is made across the top of the buttocks, extending from the hip across to the top of the vertical gluteal cleft, and connecting with your existing tummy tuck scar. This approach allows for comprehensive treatment of the hips and love handles, as well as the buttocks. The incision placement for your specific needs would slightly drift upward to effectively target the love handle region. This would be similar to the position you demonstrated in your third picture, where you're lifting the buttocks. The incision is expected to be just beneath where your thumbs are positioned in that photo. In the procedure, the dissection is carried down to the gluteus maximus muscle, lifting and removing the excess skin and fat. This approach not only addresses the buttocks but also eliminates the love handles. Typically, the procedure involves the insertion of two drains, which are generally kept in place for about 7 to 10 days. The entire surgery usually takes around four hours and is performed under general anesthesia. Recovery time is about three weeks, so it's advisable to plan for at least 2 to 3 weeks off work. Additionally, you should avoid physical activity for around four weeks post-surgery. I hope this information helps clarify your options and what you can expect from a butt lift or posterior body lift procedure. It's important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your specific goals and expectations. Good luck with your procedure! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Addressing the backside on massive weight loss patients I think I have addressed questions by you previously. Weight loss patients need skin surgery and if you liked with a tummy tuck dead then what do you need is the same but on the sides and back side. I call it a wrap around tummy tuck some people call it a body lift. Obviously the front has already been taken care of. Talk to the surgeon who did your previous surgery or consult with other board-certified plastic surgeons. It’s pretty straightforward. Connect the dots and cut out the skin laxity on the flanks and back. Liposuction will not improve because you don’t have subcutaneous fat as an issue. Weight loss patients have skin laxity and need more skin surgery. You should do great with this procedure as long as you find a skilled surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
