Question

It is quite prominent when standing but flattens whilst laying down. Is this normal or swelling etc.? Worried about it as after abdominoplasty it was not like this till around 5 to 6 weeks.

I recommend you follow-up with your surgeon who can perform an exam to see if the swelling is due to a fluid collection. It is helpful to wear a compression garment at all times also. Hope this helps and good luck!

Seroma‘s or fluid collections are very common after a tummy tuck, even after eight weeks. You may need to have your plastic surgeon drain this to hasten the process. If you are out and about you need to wear tight compression garments to help this eradicate on its own which it will. The fact that your lower abdomen is still numb makes it feel more swollen as well. It takes quite a while to feel like you are at your best with this procedure but this will still be one of your favorite operations to help  correct the problems associated with childbirth etc.
