Adam's Apple on Thin People

Question

I am 34 years old female (Ugly one) but I have two problem that bother me most. one of the the very obvious Adam's apple. I don't know if there is a possible way to make less apparent. Naturally I am very thin especially in my face where there is no fat at all may be this is why it look to be big. Is there other solutions than the shaving procedure to make not not visible.

Hi,This can be shaved down, but if you are not interested in that, sometimes fat grafting is an option to help conceal the prominence. I recommend getting a plastic surgery consultation so you can get the best solution to your issue. All the best,Dr. BlaggAustin, TX

A prominent Adams apple is often perceived as a masculine feature. Laryngeal shave surgery can be performed under local anaesthetic with or without sedation. A small skin incision is placed over the cartilages and they are shaved carefully to improve the neck contour and avoid injury to the underlying larynx. Recovery takes a couple of weeks but is not uncomfortable. Best of luck!

The thyroid cartilage shave procedure is the most effective procedure to contour the large Adam's apple. This is actually performed in women more often than most people appreciate. The procedure gets the most attention with regard to transgender procedures but in my experience women with large Adam's apples represent the largest number of patients requesting the procedure. Seek someone highly experienced in this procedure and very knowledgeable with regard to laryngeal anatomy as poorly performed shave procedures can result in voice change or impairment of breathing.
