Hello, I would like to ask whether one could have Botox or HA fillers as an alternative to the tracheal shave procedure.
Answer: Tracheal Shave Alternative Hello, hope you are doing well. Thank you for submitting your question. Unfortunately, I think you would be disappointed with the results of either of these approaches (Botox/HA filler) as a substitute for tracheal shave surgery. The Adam's Apple is caused by cartilage and cannot be reduced with botox; if you apply dermal filler you will most likely augment the anatomy and make it appear even more prominent. There's no real alternative to this surgery. Best, Dr. Tower

Answer: Botox/Filler Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin - Winnetka & Chicago. This is a great question. While Botox and hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers can be used creatively for many aesthetic concerns, they are not true alternatives to a tracheal shave, especially if your main concern is a prominent Adam’s apple. Botox or filler might offer subtle enhancements around the area in certain cases. For example, Botox can be used to relax the platysma muscle in the neck, which may help with overall neck smoothness or tightness, but it won’t impact the Adam’s apple itself. Similarly, HA filler could very cautiously be used in surrounding areas to create the illusion of a smoother neck contour, but this approach is limited, temporary, and can sometimes even draw more attention to the area if not done with extreme precision. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Sadly, this will not work Unfortunately neither of these treatments will work to reduce the appearance of the Adam's Apple.. The procedure takes only 30 minutes and is done as an outpatient surgery. We have done hundreds of these and they are very effective.
