The term butt lift is somewhat vague and imprecise. This is true for many terms used in cosmetic surgery. When it comes to butt lifts There are generally two procedures done. One is often called the BBL or a Brazilian butt lift. In this procedure the patients on fat is grafted to the buttocks after having a Liposuction and other parts of the body. The procedure doesn’t actually lift anything it just adds volume. It can give it great enhancements in those who are lacking volume to some degree. The second lift procedure which is a true lift entails exercising skin and fat over the lower back which has a lifting effect on the buttocks. It leaves a long scar and is often done in conjunction with an extended tummy tuck. These are the main two purchase plastic surgeons tank though there are a few others that have been described.Today the BBL is the most common procedure for gluteal enhancements.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Hi and welcome to our forum! There are two different forms of butt lift. The traditional butt lift consists of a skin excision in the bikini line extending around the superior aspect of the buttocks. This will tighten the back, lift the buttocks, buttock crease, and upper thighs. The Brazilian butt lift involves a transfer of fat from elsewhere to the buttocks to fill deficiency. There is no skin removed. It will fill out the buttocks but will not achieve a lift.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon to determine which procedure is better for you.Best wishes...
