Does my tummy tuck scar look normal? Why do I have wrinkling lines on each side? Will they go away? (Photo)

I just want to stop worrying about those lines that I have going on around the incisions from both sides. My PS said they would go away with Time but I want to hear a second opinion to rest my mind.

The tissue of the upper portion of the tummy tuck is moved down, and the sides undergo a slight rotation in position. Also the upper wound edge is typically longer than the lower wound edge. Plastic surgeons try to avoid creating a longer scar by distributing the tissue such that early on there may be a gathered effect. It is not rare to have some vertical pleating at the sides when there is a lot of loose skin removed from a tummy tuck. They may or may not get better with more time and healing but you need to wait a full six months to see what happens and if their appearance lessens

It is not unusual to have some wrinkling along the tummy tuck scar especially in the first few weeks after the surgery.  If you had a lot of loose skin, this is a common issue.  In most cases this will resolve/improve over the next few months.  Let your surgeon know about your concern, they may be able to help if it requires a revision - but give things time.
