Breathing problems, bump and inflammation. Could I still be healing from a rhinoplasty six years later? (Photos)
I had two surgeries. When I was 19 or 20, I had a closed rhinoplasty to shave a bump on the right side of my nose. The surgery resulted in a minor improvement, and I healed quickly, maybe less than six months. I was happy with the results, but a small portion of the bump remained. I did not think of it much over the following years. However, when I was 25, I thought about undergoing a second surgery to improve my breathing and fully remove the bump. I consulted with a surgeon, and he suggested to have a septoplasty and open rhinoplasty. I felt confident in his plan and decided to have the surgery in 2020. The outcome of the surgery was poor. My breathing worsened, and I was unhappy with the appearance. The original bump on the right side of my nose was removed, but somehow a new bump appeared on the left supratip. I thought my breathing would improve significantly over time, but I sill experience a considerable amount of discomfort and difficulty inhaling in the left nostril. It looks red and inflamed inside, to this day, whereas the right nostril looks healthy. I thought the bump on the left supratip was swelling, since there was no bump prior, but it has remained. I tried kenalog injections, but it still persists. I still feel so much discomfort on the left side, within the nostril and surrounding the bump. I am a healthy, young person. I enjoy running. I abstain from alcohol and eat a healthy diet. I don't understand what else I can do. Any help is appreciated.
