Rhinoplasty requires exceptional skill on behalf of the surgeon and great communication with the patient about realistic goals and expectations. Common cosmetic concerns include a dorsal hump, wide nose, sunken nose, irregularities, and asymmetries. Functional concerns include difficulty breathing through the nose, which can and should be addressed at the same time as your rhinoplasty. In your situation, tip refinement is part of a rhinoplasty and can help accomplish your goals.Make sure to seek out the care of a board certified surgeon with extensive experience in rhinoplasty. Find someone you connect with, who will listen to your concerns and provide you with a framework for what is possible. Gary Linkov, MD Rhinoplasty Specialist Manhattan
My suggestion would be to see several experts in the art of rhinoplasty to get their opinions regarding the extent of the surgery necessary to achieve your goals. In all but the most obvious case of a nasal tip issue, the surgeon should have the option of addressing all of the nasal elements to establish proper proportions. The photos you sent are not very good because your head is at various angles and distances and you are smiling in some. I am not exactly sure what was done in the morphed photo, but it appears that your nostrils may have been brought in. Admittedly, most of the work would probably involve narrowing the tip, raising the columella and maybe the tip as well and, perhaps, narrowing the nasal base. You should seek several consultations and work with a surgeon with whom you feel confident. Hopefully, he will know what you want to achieve and show prior work that gives evidence that he can "walk his talk".
Dear bookworm08,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from a rhinoplasty. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your questions and for sharing your photographs. It appears that you have a bulbous nasal tip, a wide nasal base, an excessive alar flaring and a hanging columella (excessive columella show). You are a good candidate for rhinoplasty in particular tip-plasty by all these issues can be dealt with.Rhinoplasty is always about improvement by means of reshaping, remodelling and refinement of your individual nose with its intricate anatomy. Rhinoplasty is not about making a complete change and achieving an absolute perfection.Make sure to seek out the care of a surgeon with extensive experience in rhinoplasty. The use of manipulated (morphed) digital clinical photography provides a platform for discussion as to your desires and expectations. Such images are not a guarantee of exact results, but a great tool to ensure that you and your surgeon are on the same wavelength.Best wishes,
A full set of facial pictures from all angles are required to make a determination about how best to proceed. Digital computer imaging would also be helpful.
Based on your photo you appear anatomically to be a good candidate for an artistically performed rhinoplasty.Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you whether you are an appropriate candidate for surgery and exactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon certified by the American Board of American Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACS La Jolla, California
Thank you for the question and photos and you do appear to be an excellent candidate for a rhinoplasty. So go on some complimentary consultations with experts that use digital photography to show you what can be accomplished with your nose and how it might be done and then look at photos of similar patients and become fully informed about the desired procedure Dr Corbin

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. It is surely possible to de-project your nose. However, to see if your expectation is realistic your nose must be examined from all directions, your nasal passage and airway must also be assessed. I would suggest that you consult with...
Hello, Without reviewing the precise anatomy of your nose, it really is not possible to voice an opinion. It sounds as if you may be discussing performing surgery only on your tip, in which case it may indeed not be possible to have both. If however you are having surgery on the entire nose and...
