Am I a good candidate for Kybella? (Photo)

Based on the single photo you are probably a candidate for Kybella though chin and jawline liposuction may provide you with a better result in less time. Kybella treatment requires several appointments over 4-6 months and does not significantly change the jawline. Liposuction can be performed in one appointment and can give you a youthful well contoured jawline. It is possible that you may need a skin tightening procedure as well. Good luck

Yes you could do Kybella. You might need a couple of treatments so the cost would approach liposuction.  I would consider liposuction in your treatment alternatives as it could be done under local anesthesia in the office.  

Hi Lexi, thanks for your question and photo! It appears that you would be a good candidate for Kybella injections.  Patients typically require two, sometimes three kybella treatments that are space 4-6 weeks apart.  There is some mild to moderate swelling after the Kybella injections, which does go away with time.  I recommend speaking to an experienced injector for more information. Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin.  Chin filler or implants can improve projection. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. 
Kybella is best for patients that:
1)  Do not want surgery 
2)  Are not surgical candidates 
3)  Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 
4)  Patient-  The results of Kybella will take months
Kybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks.  Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days.  The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office.
Neck Liposuction is best for patients that:
1)  Want a single treatment 
2)  One recovery time-  Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3)  Less painful 
4)  Quicker results 
5)  Cost is a concern
Neck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake.  It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks.  The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients.

You do appear to be a good candidate for Kybella.  An alternative would be liposuction.  Kybella is non-surgical, but it does take several treatment sessions and there normally is noticeable swelling after each treatment.  Liposuction can be done in one procedure with only one recovery time.  Costs can vary, but in some instances, liposuction may be less expensive than a series of Kybella treatments.

Dear lexilynn77,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office.  I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable.  It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. An exam is always needed to determine the best Kybella candidates and to give an idea of the number of treatments it might take to achieve your goal.  If you have good skin firmness and can pinch an half inch for fat or more under your chin then you may be the perfect candidate.  Even with some skin laxity as in the idler population, very good results can be obtained in 2 or 3 treatments.  See an experienced Kybella provider for a personalized evaluation.

Kybella is to destroy permanently fat cells beneath the chin. Anyone who has fat under their chin is a candidate for Kybella. I would recommend you have a consultation with your nearest Dermatologist for procedure information, such as downtime and how many treatment you'll need.
