Kybella treatment by two different clinics was completely different. Why?

Each Doctor will have their own treatment protocols. If you're concerned, I recommend following up with your practitioners. It will take several weeks for results with Kybella. I hope this helps. 

This is a really interesting question. In the study in which Kybella was FDA approved in the US, the tatoo grid was used to determine how much would be injected. Each dot is 1cm from the next. The fat is assessed against this grid and each dot where there was fat got 0.1cc of Kybella. In the study, people got different amounts, but most people needed around 2 vials (some less, some more). As a practical matter, we don't divide up vials between patients here in the US, so you have to buy a whole vial. So, most treatments here are 2 vials, but occasionally someone will only need one and rarely 3. The second treatment you got sounds like it was done as we do it here in the US. I believe most docs here follow the basic method in the original study. But MD's here are also free to do things differently, if it works for them. I am not sure whether your first experience might be the norm in some parts of the world, and may work well. But it seems to me that spreading the product around in the entire area of fat makes more sense. 

Hi tomsanders, It's really difficult to pass judgment without seeing you the first time. However, let me ask you how the results were. Obviously, it's too early to tell since you've just had Kybella treatment. I actually follow the second protocol and the number of vials would depend upon the patient's condition.All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
