Silicone sheets are available for scar improvment, and they can work. They should be worn contiuously on new scars for at least a year.  There are other treatment measures include other forms of occlusive dressings as well as topical agents.

Itt has been a very useful treatment for thick scars or to avoid them. It is also useful for post burn, post traumatic scars. It is common practice to combine them with other modalities like kenolog injection or compression. Hope that helps!

Silicone gel sheets are an effective treatment for scar management. The sheets are applied daily 6-8 hours a day for 2-3 months. This will prevent thick scar formation and the treatment can start as soon as 10 days post surgery.
