These are probably not the result of trauma. These can be removed with a Hairline Incision IF you have X-rays that show the bone is thicker there. The cost can be determined after evaluation and examination.

Sometimes trauma can cause issues with bone irregularities, but it is hard to say for sure. My suggestion is that you seek care with a craniofacial plastic surgeon in your area. Typically we obtain a CT scan of the skull to determine the cause and structure of any deformity. Surgery can be done for smoothing or burring the bone prominence if the bone is of adequate thickness. This can be done with limited incisions in the scalp to minimize scarring. Cost depends on several factors and could be anywhere from $5000-10,000 depending on what is involved. It is unclear if insurance would cover this and likely not if there is no underlying deformity noted on the CT scan.
