Menopause has variable manifestations, which may modify Mommy makeovers. Many women will experience the following: a) regrowth of breasts and/or ptosis (droopiness); b) accumulation of fat around the abdomen and hips. Depending on what combination of procedures you choose for your mommy makeover, you may require a little adjustment. Although we can't choose not to age, we can choose a healthy life style, dietary moderation, exercise and self-knowledge, i.e. whether or not to go on Hormone Replacement. Assemble your professional team, including Internal Medicine and Gynecology. Good luck.
Hi there. Unfortunately, there's no sure way to predict how menopausewill affect you. Some women gain weight, others lose breast volume, and othersremain relatively unaffected. Though no surgery can stop the aging process, procedures such as a mommy makeover can slow it down. Also, many doctorsprovide hormone therapies and other treatments that help patients manage theunwanted side effects of menopause. As long as you maintain a steady weight andlive healthily, your results should be quite long-lasting. Best of luck withyour decision.
Menopause has never been accused of making someone look better, but there is really no choice about it (other than hormones). Still, a result after a mommy makeover followed by menopause will be better than menopause without the surgery. We must choose to fix the things we can an accept those we cannot fix.
Dear riveral, the lack of hormones and the aging process ruins everything! Some of the most attractive women I know are in their 40s so you are in a great age. Moreover this is the right time for you to have the MM because the forties is a great age where you are still young enough to bounce back from surgery quickly so don't wait too long. If you think menopause will damage your MM results making it not worthwhile I'd say that it will damage you even more if you don't do the makeover. A lot of people think aging is all in your mind, I'm not so sure about that! What I know is that if you eat healthy and stay fit you will defeat the effects of aging wether or not you take hormonal replacements. I also know that bioidentical hormonal replacement does a lot for your skin, health and attitude. You're only 44, please don't give up
You are correct that your weight loss has caused the loose skin that is causing the problem. The most common treatment is full tummy tuck which will pull down and flatten this skin above the umbilicus.Interestingly , the belly button could be removed likely under a local anesthesia, but the...
The answer will be based on a clear discussion from you with your surgeon first as well as the anesthesiologist. More often, this would be a reason to postpone your surgery, but they should all work together to ensure your highest level of safety.Garrett A. Wirth, MD, MS, FACS
Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. Your question is a very important one and I would recommend you undergoing liposuction and autologous fat grafting to the buttocks (BBL) first followed by a period of 2 to 3 months prior to undergoing abdominoplasty and breast...
