I'll be 41 when I have lipo and BBL. Will I be high risk due to age? I'm 5ft 2 and weigh 72kg - how much weight should I lose?
Answer: BBL candidate Dear kellynj, you are not too old for surgery. Generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a BBL, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Best Age to get a BBL Thank you for your question. There is not a specific age, but first, for safety reasons, to be a good candidate for the procedures you want at the same time, your labs and cardiovascular preoperative evaluation must be optimal. Kind Regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Am I too old at 41 for a BBL and how much weight should I lose? Hello, thank you for your question. Age by itself will not prevent you from having a BBL. One of my patients was 72 years old. Overall medical health and suitability of the procedure for a patient is more important than age. Most patients get an immense benefit with maximal liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, bra roll and back to obtain the smallest waist possible and then maximal fat transfer to the buttocks and hips. This really just depends upon your goals. You do not need to loose weight, you can get nice results with your current weight. I recommend you to schedule an email or Skype consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of these procedures and who has pictures and reviews you like.

Answer: Am I too old at 41 for a BBL and how much weight should I lose? Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Your BMI is within the recommended range, but unfortunately, without pictures, it is very difficult to give you a proper answer. There is no age limit for plastic surgery, it all depends on your current health condition and your lab tests. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Good luck :)

Answer: Best age for a BBL You are definitely not too old to have a BBL. Your BMI seems appropriate for the procedure as well. Generally speaking the ideal candidate for the BBL tends to be young women with tight skin who don’t have pregnancy related changes, minimal skin laxity, no excess visceral fat that are slightly chubby. As people get older they loose skin elasticity. Skin laxity is one of the major reasons patients fail to be great candidates for both Liposuction and fat transfer procedures. Skin laxity contributes to a significant amount to body contour regardless of fat distribution. Loss of skin elasticity goes on throughout adult life but starts being an issue and patience around your age but generally older. Things like sun damage, genetics and weight fluctuations also have a significant contributing impact to skin elasticity. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
