At size 34 A each 100 cc’s of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. 400 cc implants would take you up 4 cup sizes to a DD. If you want to be a C, you would only need 200 cc implants. I recommend small silicone gel implants placed retro-pectoral since they look and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely to ripple or have complications needing revision. In the retro-pectoral position, the muscle compresses the implant and determines the projection, not the implant profile. Unfortunately, your photographs do not show the position of your breasts on the chest wall but they appear to be slightly lower and after breast feeding it is possible that you may benefit from a simultaneous lift. The advantages of a lift technique are reshaping your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevating them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Aligning the areola, breast tissue and implant over the bony prominence of the chest wall maximizes anterior projection with a minimal size implant. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Hello 25cc does not make a huge difference in the final size of your breasts. In general you need to add approximately 100cc to jump a cup size . Although I usually remind patients that the larger the implants the higher the chance of complications such as traction ripples, capsular contracture, etc.... I notice that patients commonly like the sizes more in the immediate post operative time when they are more swollen! good luck
I think you would feel more comfortable if you had more of a say in your implant size with some helpful guidance from your surgeon. This is the approach I use to help guide my patients with their implant size selection: I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients: 1.Dimensional planning 2.Gel Implant Sizing system Dimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the breast dimensions including the height, width, and current dimensions of each breast form the basis of dimensional planning. Based on these measurements, the implant size is recommended. This will give you a unique breast implant that is suited for your body frame. However, there are some limitations of what size we can recommend. For instance, some implants may just be too big for a narrow chest wall. Your surgeon can review this with you during the consultation. Gel Implant Sizing system – During the preliminary breast implant consultation, you will be provided with an option to “try on” a variety of implant shapes and sizes. You can also visualize the possible outcomes of your surgery which helps you to get that perfect size to give you the shape that you longed for. This way your preferences are known and you can then pick a range of implants that will “fit” just right to give a soft natural fuller look. If you have decided on saline implants, then based on the gel sizer you select, we can guide you to the saline implant that achieves a similar look. Hope this helps. Dr. Basu Houston, TX
It is difficult to determine what the cup size will be from the volume chosen. It is always best to be evaluated in person.
25 cc's is about a shot glass of volume and is unlikely to make a big difference in breast size. Since the biggest complaint among women getting implants is "I should have gone bigger", pick the 400cc implant. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. It is important to have an in-person assessment regarding your concerns as it is difficult to determine virtually.Exact end results and cup sizes are usually quite difficult to calculate as everyone has a different starting point. There are many different factors that go into choosing a breast implant size which will correspond with your body dimensions while concurrently achieving your aesthetic results. Some of these factors are: Implant size (CC's), Implant profile (Low, Moderate, High), Placement of the implant (Subglandular vs. Dual Plane) etc. We utilize smooth round cohesive silicone gel 'gummy bear' implants for the best results.During a consultation your aesthetic goals are heard and taken into account with the measurements of your breasts and the integrity of your tissue, as well as level of ptosis (sag). The most important issue is that implant fits your chest, your figure and your life style. It's important to measure the diameter of the breast and assess how elastic the breast is. If the implant is too big, it will spill off your chest laterally and drive you nuts or it will result in the dreaded unaboob. Don't get hung up on numbers, either with the implant volume or the bra size. What's important is that you have a result that looks and feels good on your body.
I agree with most of the other doctors and their answers. After breast augmentation under the muscle, activity is restricted for 6 weeks. This is mainly to arm and upper body activity. I let my patients get on stationary bicycles after just two weeks as this does not affect the breasts...
