Modest overfilling has been shown to produce a protective effect in reducing deflation rates. See my published article in the link below. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. RealSelf Distinguished Hall of Fame Inductee. Philadelphia, Pa., USA
There is really no excuse to overfill a 330 HP implant to 500. Could have used a 420-500, 460-550 or 500-600. The surgeon most likely did not have the correct implant to use.
Dear jessieb0118,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
330cc to 500cc is a rather large amount of overfilling during breast augmentation. Please discuss with your surgeon.
You provide this one fact without any other information, but it really doesn't matter. There is no good reason to do something like that. I don't know a single surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who is also in good standing with their state medical board, i.e. hasn't lost their license to practice medicine, who would do that.
Implants are designed to be overfilled but not by that much. Generally implants get overfilled by about 10 percent of the volume.
This question can only be answered by your surgeon. Perhaps it was related to discussions you had with her/him in the past. What sizes were you considering during your consultations? Your surgeon should be able to provide clarity on the selected implant.
It would be best to ask your surgeon why he did not select a larger implant. He may not have had a larger implant with him, or did not want to use a larger based implant because of your chest size. Or, perhaps your surgeon was not planning originally to place 500 cc's, but decided to increase the size.
Unfortunately, without pictures, it is impossible to know. 500cc is a relatively large volume. Why he chose 330 size to overfill is a question you will need to ask him/her.
Your question is left very hard to interpret. Plus no posted photos. Best to virtual concert with. But over feeling sailing implants more than the maximum full volume validate your warranty from the manufacturer so this is another issue to consider. Was your surgery done in the United States? If so, and you did not consent to over inflation, invalidating your manufacturer warranty that could be a medical legal issue?
Dear Imaginative382231, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the...
Thank you for your inquiry! Based on the photos, an implant may give you enough volume so you would not need a lift. We would love to meet with you to discuss your options. Schedule a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to help you reach your goals.
Dear joanna o, you need to be healthy prior to any elective procedure. most surgeons would recommend to postpone surgery if you have a cold. Every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon...
