This lower abdominal swelling is common after this procedure. It can take several weeks for the swelling to settle down. It is important that your surgeon evaluate you for serroma, though the incidence is relatively low compared to traditional tummy tuck. I agree with the other MDs. It's important for your plastic surgeon to evaluate you and to make sure you don't develop a fluid collection (seroma). You would have the sensation of fluid in that area. If he or she doesn't feel there is fluid then keep following their post op instructions. Likely they will have you continue the compression.

Hello and thanks for your question. It is difficult to say without an examination what the cause of the bulging is. If your doctor felt there was no seroma then watchful waiting is certainly the best course. I would recommend close follow up with him to ensure no seroma develops, especially with the drainless technique. It is unlikely that the compression garment malposition would create a need for a revision. Hang in there!
